Try Georgian exquisite cuisine – beautifully interweaved eastern and western patterns of culinary and Georgian wine – Georgia’s trademark, which many times honorably represented Georgia on a world’s scale. Georgian wine has 8000 years history of winemaking and unique technology – Georgian “Kvevri”, which is represented in UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Georgians have 150 kinds of wine, which many times astonished foreign guests and visitors. During the tour you will be able to visit most prominent wine chambers, learn history of this famous winemaking technology, taste different kinds of wine, see how Georgians make wine and have master classes and attend Georgian “Sufra” accompanied with Georgian toastmaster – “Tamada”.
The price includes transfer from and to the airport, transportation with mini-van or bus, hotel, breakfast,dinner at restaurant, price of master classes and degustation. The tours can be modified according to guests’ desires and preferences.

Tour Plan

Tbilisi

Our tour starts with exploring city Tbilisi, visiting main decencies, Old town with its 15 century history, full of legends and myths, colorful houses and beautiful architecture. In the evening we will visit Georgian restaurant and try local cuisine with traditionally made wine along with Georgian Traditional singing and dancing.

Mtskheta

The next day we visit historical town Mtskheta, visit cultural monuments and historic memorials, enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage list. In the evening we have delicious supper, which will grow into traditional feasting - "Supra" accompanied with Tamada - Georgian toastmaster.

Kakheti - Homeland of Wine

In the mornng we travel to homeland of wine – Kakheti region. At first we explore Gremi - the 16th century royal citadel and the Church of the Archangels There we will visit Kvareli Gvirabi (Tunnel) “Khareba” – unique warehouse of traditional wine and technology of winemaking. It was established in 1962 for the reason to preserve Georgian unique technology of winemaking. The tunnel is 7.7 KM long and creates ideal conditions for wine. Tourist zone gives visitors opportunity to taste approximately 40 types of wine, try to bake Georgian bread – lavashi themselves, try to make popular Georgian Sweet – Churchkhela themselves and make traditional alcoholic drink – “Chacha”. There, at that beautiful venue we will have traditional supper and stay at Kvareli overnight.

Telavi

In the morning we head to Telavi - previously royal city, visit wine factory – Badagoni, Telavi marketplace, Shuamta - oldest preserved Orthodox churches in Georgia, dating back to the 5th century, Ikalto Monastery complex. At Alaverdi monastery we will try traditional wine made by local monks. We might participate in traditional grape harvesting procedure – “Rtveli” which is seasonal. At Tsinandali we will visit local Dukes’ Alexander Chavchavadze’s house museum, which is now Tsinandali Estate. Chavchavadze family played a significant part in the national history. Visitors can stroll through huge vineyard, try different wines. We get back to Tbilisi to stay overnight and get ready for another enjoyable trip.

Western Georgia

In the morning we travel to western regions. Passing Sachkhere and Chiaura, where we will explore beautiful landscapes and, we have dinner and try traditionally made wine at “Maradiuli Wine Cellar”. In Kutaisi we will visit famous historic heritage monuments, Bagrati Church, Gelati monastery, Motsameta monastery, all of them are included in UNESCO World Heritage list. We will explore local winemaking technology and try different types of wine. We stay overnight in Kutaisi.

Back To Tbilisi

In the morning we return back to Tbilisi, where we have our free time, in the evening we conclude our tour with Georgian "Supra" accompanied with Tamada, traditional singing, dancing and of course wine. The wine tour is most unforgettable, funny and loaded with positive emotions.
